On Saturday, July 13, the Mordecai Land Trust will host Miles for Mordecai, a morning walk and educational event focused on the preservation of Mordecai Island. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the corner of Berkeley and West Avenue in Beach Haven, New Jersey.

Miles for Mordecai is open to the public and offers a family-friendly atmosphere with educational activities geared toward children ages 0–15. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the island’s ecological importance and the ongoing work being done to protect it.

Registration is free for current members of the Mordecai Land Trust. For all other participants, donations are welcome and will support ongoing conservation and educational efforts.

Mordecai Island plays a vital role in protecting the mainland from storm surges and serves as critical habitat for coastal wildlife. Events like Miles for Mordecai help raise awareness and generate funding for long-term restoration work. By participating, residents and visitors alike contribute to a meaningful cause that benefits both the local environment and future generations.
